Skidding (Coming Soon)
Skidding involves mounting a skid shoe between the structure and the skid track to facilitate movement. A greased skid track and a Teflon layer reduce friction, allowing a specially designed mechanism to pull the load across the tracks. In addition to push and pull systems, SMCLR also uses strand jacks for skidding operations, such as load-outs from jackets.
SMCLR has successfully executed skidding operations for loads up to 18,000 tons.
