Commitment to Safety, Environmental Stewardship, and Quality

At SMCLR, A Crane Co., our mission is to deliver unmatched crane rental and truck transportation services while prioritizing safety, environmental responsibility, and operational excellence. We are fully committed to protecting the well-being of our employees, contractors, service providers, the public, and the environment across all our operations, which include heavy lifting, specialized transport, assembly, disassembly, and maintenance projects.

Our leadership and workforce are dedicated to safeguarding human life, protecting assets, and ensuring customer satisfaction through the consistent enforcement of our safety policies. By utilizing Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycles and adhering to our rigorous safety protocols, we ensure that safety is a core consideration in every decision and action taken. This approach guarantees that our operations contribute to a safer, more efficient, and responsible business environment, supporting the long-term success of our company and the communities we serve.

COMMITMENT TO SAFETY

At SMCLR, A Crane Co., we are unwavering in our commitment to safety. Compliance with our Safety and Health Program is mandatory for all employees and is a condition of employment. Our mission is to ensure that all safety rules, procedures, and plans outlined in the program are strictly followed to safeguard the well-being of our workforce and maintain operational excellence.

We enforce safety policies at every level, with management and supervisory staff empowered to initiate disciplinary actions for any violations. These may include failure to follow verbal or written safety procedures, neglecting guidelines or rules, engaging in unsafe behavior such as horseplay, or improper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Periodic safety inspections of the workplace and equipment are conducted to ensure that all personnel, including supervisors, are fully committed to upholding these standards. Supervisors are held accountable for the enforcement of safe work practices, and failure to enforce safety rules will result in disciplinary measures for both employees and supervisory personnel alike.

Our training programs, retraining initiatives, and optional safety incentive programs are designed to ensure that all employees understand the importance of safety, are aware of the consequences of non-compliance, and are equipped to perform their duties safely and effectively. At SMCLR, safety is not just a requirement—it is an integral part of our culture and our commitment to excellence.

Our Sustainability Commitment

SMCLR is focused on advancing global sustainability goals by developing a comprehensive Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy. This strategy will guide our efforts to minimize environmental impact and maximize social and economic benefits, ultimately building a sustainable future for our business and the communities we serve.

Putting Our Commitment into Action

To ensure the practical application of our SHEQ policy and prevent incidents, SMCLR has established a set of critical safety protocols. All employees are expected to perform their duties in line with these guidelines and follow all relevant procedures, including our Last-Minute Risk Assessment (LMRA) before beginning any work. Management is committed to taking necessary corrective measures as outlined in our Consequence Management Procedure.

We prioritize the use of collective protection equipment and provide our employees with the highest-quality Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), in compliance with local regulations. Our management team actively oversees the effectiveness of our SHEQ Management System through regular workplace inspections and the Prevention at SMCLR (P@S) program.

We are dedicated to continuous improvement, conducting both internal and external audits to assess and enhance our SHEQ Management System. Each of our Business Units follows a tailored Action Plan, with regular reviews to ensure prompt corrective actions are taken to boost performance and efficiency.

Our ongoing commitment to safety is reinforced by initiatives such as our safety awareness campaigns, regular progress updates, and the introduction of new tools to monitor and improve safety practices. Additionally, we are working to quantify our carbon footprint as part of our new ESG strategy, aiming to reduce our environmental impact.

This policy is accessible at all SMCLR locations and is reviewed annually to ensure it remains aligned with our strategic priorities in crane rental and truck transportation services.
